Job Description: The Manager–CM Services is responsible for overseeing and managing a team of case managers and CM Vendor Partners in a field or telephonic role. This role demands a dynamic combination of clinical expertise, leadership capabilities, and field-based experience, to oversee the efficient management of complex medical cases while enhancing the team’s operational flexibility and responsiveness. Key areas include:

 

Leadership and Collaboration

·       Supervision and Leadership: Oversee and mentor CMs, promote quality expectations of continuous improvement and adherence to Best Practice performance.

·       Case Management Oversight: Ensure case managers assess, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate care plans for injured or disabled individuals effectively.

·       Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with network CM partners, insurance carriers, healthcare providers, employers, attorneys, and injured workers to develop and execute personalized recovery plans.

 Quality and Improvement

·       Network Oversight: Oversee and ensure the quality of vendor partners, provide improvement feedback, and manage billing/report production

·       Issue Escalation: Serve as an escalation point for complex issues, addressing challenges promptly and efficiently.

·       Service Delivery: Support the operations of the case management team to guarantee timely and high-quality service delivery.

·       Training and Quality: Train CMs, and Vendor Partners in process, client instructions, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure CMs and Vendor Partners meet client/service standards and goals.

·       Reporting and Communication: Facilitate communication of results and progress back to stakeholders, such as employers and insurance carriers.

·       Other duties as assigned

 

Required Skills & Experience

·       Clinical Expertise: A robust clinical background, as a Registered Nurse or CCM, with solid experience in case management and operations management

·       Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead and mentor teams effectively.

·       Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with a diverse group of stakeholders.

·       Problem-Solving: Skilled in identifying needs, addressing problems, and advocating for patient care.

·       Field-Based Experience: Experience managing case managers who provide telephonic and/or field-based services.

 

Work Environment:

·       Home-Based: Candidate will work primarily from home, though some travel may be required to meet with clients, leadership team, conferences, and/or CM vendor partners

 

Required Qualifications:

·       Degree (associate, bachelor’s, master’s) in Nursing, Case Management, Social Work or another related field

·       Certification in the case management field, i.e., CCM (Preferred) or A-CCC, CDMS, CMAC, CMC, CRC, CRRN, and COHN

·       If a nurse, candidate must hold a current, active, and unrestricted RN license in at least their home state

·       Bi-lingual a plus

·       Maintains confidence and tact in difficult discussions and collaborations to achieve positive outcomes

·       Possesses strong leadership, organizational, prioritization, and delegation skills

·       Demonstrates technical proficiency in Microsoft Office products and ability to learn new software

·       Ability to maintain accurate records, prepare reports, correct English usage, and maintain confidentiality

·       Ability to construct grammatically correct reports using standard medical terminology

·       Ability to use a computer keyboard and mouse up to 8 or more hours per day

 

Work Requirements:

·       Able to work minimum core business hours (Mon-Fri, 8:00a-5p EST, and as required for business need)

·       Must have dedicated home office space that ensures privacy with access to reliable high-speed internet

·       Must maintain a valid driver's license with good driving history

·       Anticipated travel < 10%

 

Physical Demands:

The position requires mobility and occasional driving. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to walk, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects. Duties involve moving materials weighing up to 10 pounds on an occasional basis such as files, books, office equipment, etc., and may infrequently require moving materials weighing up to 30 pounds. Manual dexterity and coordination are required while operating equipment such as computer keyboard, calculator, and standard office equipment.
