Where You Will Work:

As a Telemetry Nurse, you’ll be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking team that plays a critical role in monitoring and managing patients with cardiac conditions. You’ll use advanced telemetry technology to detect rhythm changes and intervene swiftly making a real difference in patient outcomes every day.

What You Will Do:

Oversees the work of the Cardiac Monitoring and Arrhythmia Center, which includes the oversight of all monitor tech functions for the Luce Heart Institute building as well as EKG services and Holter/Event monitor services. Works collaboratively between the departments of cardiology, internal medicine, family practice, and emergency medicine to coordinate a seamless care path for the patient with congestive heart failure and arrhythmias and other cardiovascular diagnoses. Oversees the Tracemaster System, which is the system-wide EKG database. Liaison between MCCG and other hospitals/physicians for chest pain referrals/transfer process and coordinated effort to care for congestive heart failure patients. Assures the provision of quality, productive, cost-efficient care. Serves on GHC Leadership Council. Responsible for human resource management functions for personnel: hiring, firing, counseling. Assists Director with budgeting and resource utilization.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for scheduling of staff and other resources in Cardiac Monitoring & Arrhythmia Center
  • Works with GHC Leadership to assure smooth, uninterrupted flow of patients from the EC, outlying hospitals and physician offices to the EP labs and observation areas
  • Performs human resources functions including hiring, firing, counseling, and performance reviews
  • Assures aseptic technique practices and radiation safety processes are in compliance with regulatory standards at all times
  • Manages patient, family, and physician satisfaction issues
  • Actively participates in Performance Improvement activities of the program with special attention to compliance with protocols and specific outcomes of the care rendered based on protocols.  Develops new protocols for CV diagnoses as the need is identified
  • Regularly conducts meetings with employees.  Works with DBEs to assure competency of all staff working in the clinical arena
  • Meets regularly with  EP physicians and EKG medical director to review the programs and recommend changes as necessary
  • Works with Director to establish and monitor budget as well as to identify cost savings and resource utilization opportunities
  • Develops protocols and procedures to assure EKG acquisition systemwide meets quality standards as well as basic volume standards.  Addresses quality issues across departments as necessary
  • Liaison between physicians and Cardiac Monitoring Staff and CVIRA regarding any online EKG interpretation issues.  Works with all physicians to assure competency in online EKG interpretation.

 Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  •    Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia

  • Graduate of an approved school or nursing and Bachelor’s degree in nursing, healthcare administration or business required

 Work Experience Required:

  • Minimum four years of experience in clinical specialty with leadership responsibility strongly preferred
