What is the Opportunity?

RBC offers an exciting role as a Manager, Canadian Benefits. In this role you will provide support for the design, implementation, governance, and oversight of corporate benefits programs and ensure programs adhere to related regulations and business objectives. You will apply experience and seasoned knowledge, skills, and practices to perform a variety of assignments.

What will you do?

  • Partner with HR Advice, Employee Relations, HR Business Partners, IT, and Corporate Communications, as well as external vendors of RBCs programs in the delivery, communication, day-to-day management, issues resolution and policy interpretation.

  • Provide advice and guidance to Benefits Delivery and external vendors in the execution of approved strategy and implementation of program changes.

  • Collaborate with HR Advice, HR IT and vendors to deliver myBenefits annual enrollment and annual pricing changes for the retiree benefits programs.

  • Support the benefit program communication to employees and retirees including booklets, summaries, rate sheets, and myHR content, in support of new or revised policies and programs.

  • Monitor vendor relationships with third party vendors, including performance evaluation against established SLA metrics.

  • Assist with annual performance assessment reviews supplier risk management reviews and work closely with HR Risk and Governance colleagues in the completion of annual Supplier Risk Management Assessments.

  • Coordinate timely payment and tracking of supplier invoicing.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance the employee experience, foster principle of shared accountability, and affirm RBC’s position as an employer of choice.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline.

  • 5+ years of benefits experience in a similar role within a large complex organization and in a professional centre environment.

  • Extensive knowledge of benefit programs, policies and legislative framework across provinces in Canada (CEBS designation preferred).

  • Ability to multi-task and effectively manage competing demands and priorities.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and employee relations skills.

  • Ability to think strategically and resolve issues objectively, while also demonstrating attention to detail and end-to-end execution.

  • Creative problem-solving skills.

  • Team player, consensus-building.
