Manager, Business Operations & Communications
*Fully remote Role*
Purpose
The role provides strategic consulting, integrated communications, organizational change enablement, and operational support to advance Retail and Wealth Digital Investing and enterprise priorities. It acts as a trusted advisor to leadership, enabling smooth adoption of change, operational readiness, and the execution of strategic initiatives. The role supports end‑to‑end project delivery, enhances business resilience, and ensures alignment with group and enterprise goals.
Key Accountabilities
Organizational Change Management & Integrated Communications
- Coordinates centralized integrated communications and ad hoc messaging for DIS\&S.
- Designs and delivers change management plans, including readiness assessments, stakeholder engagement, impact analysis, communications, training, and sustainment.
- Provides communication support for large‑scale initiatives and high‑visibility programs.
- Translates complex business and technology changes into clear, audience‑specific messaging.
- Identifies emerging issues or risks related to change adoption and recommends solutions to minimize disruption.
- Ensures communications and change activities align with enterprise frameworks, governance, and timelines.
Consulting, Strategic Advisory & Project Execution
- Acts as a trusted advisor to business partners, influencing and negotiating to achieve desired outcomes.
- Provides subject matter expertise throughout project lifecycle—from business case development through implementation.
- Supports development of strategic plans by identifying trends, risks, and opportunities that inform decision‑making.
- Breaks down strategic problems and conducts analysis to provide insights and recommendations.
- Contributes to program and project design, offering business context and recommendations to enhance outcomes.
- Monitors project performance, identifies issues, and enables timely resolution.
- Serves as relationship manager across assigned initiatives to ensure alignment with enterprise and group goals.
Operational Support & Resilience Enablement
- Provides technical and operational support for frontline teams.
- Acts as liaison for ID management, access logistics, and operational coordination.
- Supports business continuity and major‑incident response through rapid, coordinated communications.
- Offers specialized analytical and technical support to resolve emerging or non‑routine operational issues.
Cross‑Functional Contributions
- Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful design, development, and implementation of initiatives.
- Contributes to enterprise efforts by applying business context and ensuring alignment with organizational strategy.
- Builds and maintains networks to gather industry insights and best practices.
- Regularly evaluates processes, communications, and change approaches to enhance effectiveness.
Qualifications
Required
- Typically 5–7 years of relevant experience in organizational change, communications, consulting, or project execution.
- Post‑secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Deep knowledge of change management methodologies and communication strategy.
- In‑depth verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and data‑driven decision‑making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate, and manage cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Ability to operate independently, manage complexity, and navigate non‑routine situations.
Nice to Have
- Certifications such as Prosci, PMP, Agile.
- Experience with digital communications tools and analytics.
- Knowledge of ID management, BCP planning, or operational support environments.

- Role may support group‑level or enterprise‑wide initiatives depending on complexity and scope.
Salaried
The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.
Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
