Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated professional to join our client-facing Sustainability Consulting team as a Business Development Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for growing our sustainability advisory portfolio, building strong client relationships, and driving new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience in consulting, sales, or business development within the sustainability or environmental services sector, and possess excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and target potential clients in need of sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) consulting services.
Develop and maintain client relationships through networking, meetings, and presentations.
Collaborate with consulting teams to design tailored sustainability solutions for corporate, institutional, and real estate clients.
Respond to RFPs and support proposal development, including scoping, budgeting, and deliverable planning.
Lead initial consultations to assess client needs and introduce relevant services and solutions.
Track market trends, client feedback, and competitor offerings to inform business development strategy.
Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress using CRM systems.
Support marketing efforts by contributing to thought leadership, case studies, and client presentations.
Meet and exceed business development targets for revenue, new clients, and engagement opportunities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required (preferred fields: Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, or related).
8-10 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management.
Strong client-facing communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven track record in developing new business and achieving sales targets.
Knowledge of sustainability frameworks, reporting standards (e.g., GHG Protocol, CDP, SBTi, GRESB, LEED), and market drivers.
Proficiency MS Office.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Professional certifications (e.g., LEED AP, WELL AP, PMP) are a plus.
Additional Information
Occasional travel outside Bangalore may be required for client meetings and industry events.
