Overview:
The Manager, Real Estate Specialist will be responsible for developing and overseeing growth of the Loan Portfolio for Commercial Real Estate (CRE) within Business Corporate Banking (BCB). The successful candidate will also assist Business Centers (BCs) in acquiring customers / projects and in proposing suitable financing structures in terms of facilities, types of security, and risk mitigation where related to CRE.
The candidate will provide extensive technical expertise on the CRE sector for both internal and external stakeholders (e.g. sales force, credit approving authority, sustainability committee, bank customers, bank property team, and other relevant parties). This role reports to the Head of Growth Sectors, Senior Bankers, and Network Banking.
Responsibilities:
To comprehend and articulate complex real estate concepts ensuring a sound understanding of client’s financing needs for more effective and tailored solutions;
To provide reviews and support to RMs (Relationship Managers) in their preparation and analysis of cash flows and repayment risks by identifying the project risks and characteristics unique to the industry;
To support Business Centers and Relationship Managers in their meetings with customers/potential leads and in field visits to ascertain project feasibility/readiness and subsequently perform site visits to the project site / attending site meetings to observe the project progress and ensure that it is within the stipulated period for successful delivery and completion;
To conduct consultation with customers and other relevant stakeholders in accordance with relevant policies, framework and guidelines established within the CRE risk appetite framework of the bank;
Implement sustainable and environmentally responsible practices in the CRE strategy that aligns with the Bank's values. To establish good working contact with other related departments within the Bank on collaborative efforts within BCB for example with BCB ESG & Sustainability team.
Skills & Experience We Are Looking For:
Malaysia citizen.
Bachelor's degree in banking/finance/accounting or any equivalent.
5 years and above work experience in the Real Estate industry or work for commercial real estate analysis, financing, or a related role.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements impacting corporate real estate transactions is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English language.
