CVS Health

Manager, Business Analysis (IC)

TX - Work from home Full time

At CVS Health, we’re building a world of health around every consumer and surrounding ourselves with dedicated colleagues who are passionate about transforming health care.

As the nation’s leading health solutions company, we reach millions of Americans through our local presence, digital channels and more than 300,000 purpose-driven colleagues – caring for people where, when and how they choose in a way that is uniquely more connected, more convenient and more compassionate. And we do it all with heart, each and every day.

How will this role have an impact?

The Manager, Business Analysis (IC) serves as a critical liaison across our health plan clients, data engineering, and operations teams. This role facilitates conversations with clients, interprets complex requirements, triages root-cause data issues, and ultimately drives solutions that enhance the accuracy, quality, and business utility of our client reporting.

Through deep knowledge of healthcare data, advanced investigation skills, and exceptional relationship management capabilities, this role supports clients through the entire data continuum.

The ideal candidate will be collaborative and driven by curiosity. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to coordinate multiple projects, take pride in thorough documentation, and have strong critical thinking skills with an ability to connect complex data concepts across systems.

CVS Business Unit: Signify Health

Logistics: Remote role with occasional travel required

Reporting: This is an Individual Contributor (IC) Manager level role

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for health plan clients regarding data deliverables and report integrity, ensuring strong, trust-based relationships are maintained.

  • Masterfully interpret ambiguous client expectations and reporting requirements (internal and external) and translate them into precise, measurable, and prioritized requirements, user stories, or technical tickets for data engineering teams.

  • Facilitate working sessions and crucial conversations among diverse stakeholders (Clients, Product, Operations, and Engineering) to gain consensus on data definitions, business rules, and solution scope.

  • Maintain excellent verbal and written communication skills, ensuring that technical findings and project status updates are clear, timely, and tailored to the audience.

  • Work directly with report developers to critically audit, test, and implement report logic to ensure final report outputs are accurate, defensible, and meet business requirements.

  • Lead the assessment and triage of data inconsistencies and report anomalies, leveraging expert-level SQL to trace data lineage, identify upstream failures (ingestion, race conditions, poor ETL logic), and pinpoint flawed downstream reporting logic.

  • Propose durable, long-term solutions that address the technical and process root cause of data problems, rather than applying quick fixes.

  • Work collaboratively with data and operations teams to assist with the prioritization of work and resources, balancing critical report fixes against new feature development and process improvement initiatives.

  • Act as the SME on how core healthcare processes (Claims, Risk Adjustment, Member Enrollment) and the Signify Health business model translate into accurate, reportable metrics.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7 or more years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or Data-focused Product Owner, with significant exposure to data governance and quality initiatives

  • Expert-level SQL proficiency with proven experience writing complex queries for investigation, root cause analysis, and defining precise reporting logic

  • Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure) is highly preferred

  • Deep healthcare domain knowledge, including hands-on experience with core concepts and data (e.g., Claims data formats, Risk Adjustment methodologies, and Member Eligibility/Enrollment)

  • Expert ability to elicit, document, and manage requirements, ensuring traceability from initial client ask through development and final validation

  • Proven ability to build and sustain strong internal and client relationships, serving as a trusted data advisor
