Summary:

Establishes and maintains systems to review, modify and approve all standard operating procedures of the BMT Program to monitor performance and compliance with the Foundation of Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) and other industry standards. In collaboration with the BMT Program Manager, the BMT QAPI Coordinator will assist with attaining and retaining FACT accreditation, development and revision of transplant treatment plans, assist in quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Assists with preparation of required records and reports for inspections.Serves as a resource to the BMT staff, nursing and ancillary departmentsPerforms a comprehensive quality audits quarterly and reports to appropriate parties and BMT Quarterly Management Committee on the overall performance against national targeted benchmarks.Identifies trends and deviations and helps to outline actions to provide optimal outcomes. Monitor Performance Improvement initiative.Demonstrates effective working relationships among departments to achieve desired outcomes as evidenced by facilitation of multidisciplinary approach to Quality Management.Works with BMT physicians, leadership and operational personnel to develop and implement best practice guidelines & protocols, and to ensure the electronic medical record supports the quality and best practice initiatives.Functions as the BMT Quality and PI Manager and establishes and maintains systems for reviewing, modifying, and approving all policies and procedures of the Bone and Marrow Transplant Program (BMT) ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accrediting agency requirements including Joint Commission, FACT, AABB and FDA.Performs scheduled and unscheduled quality audits, analyzes outcome and process indicators, generates quality improvement reports, reviews with appropriate management, and makes recommendations based on results.Participates in and guides data collection for analyses of effectiveness of BMT program and patient care delivered. Collaborates with the Office of Human Research to ensure accurate data submission to the Center of International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR).

Must have knowledge of all regulatory requirements related to Bone Marrow Transplant. Effective organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects. Required Work Experience: 3 years of experience in health care outcomes or quality. One year of experience with marrow and stem cell transplantation.
