Job Requirements:
- With the use of data analytics, support the audit by providing insight from analysis and correlation of data extracted from various systems which support the business. Types of testing that the DA can perform include the following:
- Background information – Performing data profiling and generating statistics to provide context and information on business processes
- Reperformance – Re-performing calculations to validate transactions (e.g. as payroll, claim payments), metrics from MI packs, and analytics models
- Exception detection - Finding cases where known restrictions or guidelines have not been adhered to
- Anomaly detection - Finding typical patterns of behaviour and detecting unusual or anomalous patterns.
- Root cause analysis - Identifying and quantifying the factors that contribute to a control failure.
- Provide independent, objective assurance that risks are being managed to ensure they are within the risk appetite approved by the Board.
- Support the Audit Director in his / her assessment of the overall risk management environment in Prudential.
- A member of the Regional audit resource pool, responsible for:
- Using data analytics tools such as SQL and Python to support the audit lead in their audit work from planning to closure, i.e. detecting symptoms of control failures through insight from the data being analysed.
- Developing continuous auditing dashboards with visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI to help provide a view on the effectiveness of key controls across the various business units.
- Using data analytics for identification of trends and themes which is used to support the control environment opinion and other MI to management.
- Supporting the Audit leadership team in executing a range of continuous improvement, administrative and reporting tasks needed to meet GwIA stakeholder requirements.
- Required to have a good working relationship with Audit Directors and other members of the Internal Audit management team.
- Key accountabilities include building and sustaining good working relationships with operational line management such as IT and Compliance to facilitate data sourcing for audits and other analytics initiatives. Ensuring analytics outputs are delivered on time inline with the DA methodology to support audit testing during fieldwork.
- Supporting the audit lead to discuss the audit report and findings with senior line management and for ensuring that appropriate responses are obtained for each issue raised in the report.
- Accountable for the project management and delivery of each analytics initiative assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum 5-10 years of hands on technical experience mining and analyzing data using databases and analytics software
- A strong working knowledge of SQL in a relational database environment
- Good working knowledge of Python to perform data analysis
- Experience in machine learning and predictive analytics is an added advantage
- Experience within the financial services industry is preferred, and experience on either insurance of investment management would be ideal
- Experience of working in an audit / risk management environment would be ideal
- Good attention to detail and rigorous logical thinking ability.
- Good team player, who can win and maintain the professional respect of the team.
- Competent with using SQL and Python (Pandas Library) for data analytics
- Good experience with using visualization tools such as Tableau and/or Power BI
- Advanced knowledge of Python/R for Text Analytics, NLP, Predictive Analytics, Machine Learning would be an added advantage.
- Competent Stakeholder management and presentation skills.
