About this opportunity:
As the Manager, Asset Integrity & Chief Inspector for the Conventional Business Unit, you will lead the team responsible for maintaining and strengthening Cenovus’s Asset Integrity Management Programs—including Pressure Equipment, Pipeline, and Pressure Piping Integrity. This Calgary‑based role requires a balance of strong technical depth, strategic oversight, and people leadership. You will guide a multidisciplinary team of Integrity Engineers, Data Technicians, students, and contractors while partnering closely with Operations and Engineering to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable performance across the asset base.
As a senior technical leader, you will provide expert oversight of inspection, corrosion mitigation, regulatory compliance and integrity engineering while driving long‑term planning, continuous improvement, and disciplined execution of integrity programs. You’ll also serve as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and external regulators, ensuring Cenovus maintains safe operations and meets all regulatory obligations.
What you’ll do:
Lead, sustain, and continuously improve Asset Integrity Management Programs (Pressure Equipment, Pipelines, and Pressure Piping), ensuring safe, compliant, and reliable operations.
Maintain the integrity and safe operation of all pressure equipment. Assure pressure equipment integrity and compliance to code.
Provide people leadership, including coaching, mentoring, developing, and performance‑managing a team of integrity professionals while modeling Cenovus values and safety culture.
Offer expert guidance in inspection, corrosion engineering, chemical applications, monitoring programs, and MOC processes.
Champion the Cenovus Operations Integrity Management System (COIMS) and PEIMs, ensuring HSE expectations are embedded in all integrity activities and field operations.
Guide asset integrity strategic planning, including long‑term integrity roadmaps, inspection plans, facility assessments, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead audit participation (LOD 2 and 3), regulatory interactions, and compliance activities with agencies such as ABSA, AER, BCER, BCTSA, and CER.
Maintain and improve integrity databases, master data accuracy, and documentation standards while supporting technical leads across pipelines, equipment, corrosion, and chemicals.
Partner across Operations, Engineering, and corporate functions to align integrity priorities, share best practices, and ensure consistent execution across the business.
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
