The Manager, Architecture - Europe is responsible for project support of all design, architecture and construction for new build, adaptive re-use, conversion, and renovation projects within the region through all design and construction phases ensuring alignment with Four Seasons brand. Coordinating with internal stakeholders and external consultant teams, providing strategic design and operational guidance, problem-solving to achieve alignment, maintaining brand consistency, and project design development/management to resolve differences between stakeholders are the main functions of this position.

 

This role is based in Four Seasons Corporate Office Geneva, reporting to the Design Services, Vice President (VP) Europe and the Senior Director, Strategy + Integration. This role involves interactions with primarily internal stakeholders at various levels. 

 

What You’ll Be Doing: 

 Project Coordination (60%) 

  • Provide project support to VP and Regional Project Leads. 

  • Assist Project Leads in coordinating with internal stakeholders and supporting Owner relations. 

  • Facilitate internal and external meetings, including developing presentation decks. 

  • Review and evaluate development opportunities. 

  • Support preparation of project area programs (Area Summary). 

  • Assemble, with guidance of Project Lead, Recommended Consultant List. 

  • Coordinate design review from concept through construction document phases to ensure compliance with Four Seasons Design Standards.  

  • Provide interpretations and clarifications of Four Seasons Design Standards. 

  • Review shop drawings and material samples and all relevant key project documentation. 

  • Manage project updates for internal reports. 

  • Participate and contribute to development and maintenance of various brand standard documents. 

  • Travel as required based on project status, and completion of associated site visit reports. 

  • Other job-related duties as requested. 

 

Initiatives + Special Projects (40%) 

  • Coordinate internal Design Services initiatives (i.e., Design Standards updates, R+D efforts, template updates, etc.) as required supporting Senior Director, Strategy + Integration.  

  • Facilitate collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Work on special projects as required.

  • Disciplined adherence to schedules and consistent performance on deliverables. 

  • Good documentation and customer service skills. 

 

Technical Skills and Knowledge 

  • Solid understanding of hotel planning principles beneficial. 
  • Good knowledge of construction and design processes. 
  • Fluent with architectural, engineering, and design industry terminology and practices. 
  • Ability to coordinate and cross-reference design drawings from multiple disciplines. 
  • Possess various computer skills including CAD/other drafting software, creative software, Microsoft Office skills, and Bluebeam. 

What You Bring: 

  • 5+ years of project-based work experience 

  • Ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in hospitality design. 

  • Hotel operator experience preferred. 

  • Licensed/Registered Professional status beneficial (i.e., Licensed Architect, P. Eng., etc). 

  • LEED accreditation preferred. 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Design, or a related field required 

  • Master’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Design, Business or related field beneficial. 

 

Travel: 

  • Travel as required based on project status, expected 20% of time. 

This role will be a Hybrid working model, which will require 3 days per week in the Four Seasons Corporate Office Geneva
