Position Summary

Position performs total advanced practice care in accordance with their collaborative practice agreement (CPA) under the direction of a physician and managerial duties. A portion of this position’s time will be committed to planning, managing and organizing all aspects of the Advanced Practice Provider’s (APP) within the department/division.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct patient care including obtaining patient history and performing patient assessment via observation, interview, and examination; orders performs and interprets diagnostic studies; performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations, and care; provides direct treatment and management of acute and chronic disease conditions; develops and implements patient-centered plan of care in collaboration with physicians, patients, consultants, nurses, ancillary care providers and others as appropriate to the patient’s condition.
  • Manages health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources; may perform diagnostic or therapeutic interventions consistent with certification and state regulations.
  • Coordinates with the Division Leader and other multidisciplinary leaders to promote professional practice models and ensure quality patient care.
  • Monitors/ensures accuracy of patient medical records, maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etc.
  • May provide management services for clinical research study projects; monitors participating subjects, including medication administration and family/patient education.
  • Works in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

  • Assists in the development and education of health care professionals in training including residents, fellows and nursing professionals.
  • Enhances personal professional growth and growth of APPs through educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
  • Hires, trains, assigns work, manages and evaluates performance. Conducts professional development plans. Ensures productivity and actions of the group meet and support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to staffing, revenue and expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve budget goals.
  • Provides guidance and direction to APPs which promotes excellent patient care and improved patient outcomes.
  • Works closely with leadership to ensure compliance with evidence-based practice.
  • May hire, terminate, evaluate, perform payroll duties, etc. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range

$119,600.00 - $215,300.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
