Salary: $133,400 - $200,100, plus 15% annual bonus

Leading the AMI Operations team means shaping the systems and processes that will define the utility’s next decade of modernization.


This Manager of AMI Operations is responsible for owning the long-term management, coordination, testing, and planning of the advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) and meter systems applications. In this role you will also manage all meter-related firmware upgrades and releases. Lastly, you will ensure the accurate configuration of the Meter Data Management System (MDMS) and the timely delivery of the billing determinants to the billing system.
 

Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for socializing to all other stakeholders the AMI system performance, backlog and trending of AMI alerts and alarms, configuration of AMI functionality, and data delivery to centralized NiSource data storage and analytics tools.

  • Manage and own testing and approvals of the metering system and remote meter software and firmware upgrades.

  • Manage, monitor, analyze, troubleshoot, and ensure timely repairs of the AMI system, network, and associated equipment through coordination with the responsible field operations teams.

  • Manage and own the day-to-day AMI system health issues and activities.

  • Be a subject matter expert for all components (software, firmware, equipment, communications, collectors, repeaters, modems, and ancillary devices used operations of the AMI Network).

  • Own stakeholder relationship with Billing and Customer teams to ensure read schedules run in accordance with billing schedules, data collection services and data delivery services.

  • Own stakeholder relationships with meter field personnel, customer service, IT, warehousing, data analytics and all crew personnel to ensure the AMI system operates in alignment with business and operational needs.

  • Responsible for financial and budgetary management of the Electric AMI Operations team.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience

  • 10+ years of experience in utility operations

  • 5+ years of experience with utility revenue metering.  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Metering Infrastructure
