How you’ll make an impact
As Manager, Ag Production Underwriting – Alliances, you’ll lead a national underwriting team that supports FCC’s Alliances portfolio across Canada. Your team enables complex, commercial lending that supports agricultural producers, agribusinesses and the strategic partners who serve them.
This role is about developing people, strengthening credit quality and shaping how we underwrite Alliances lending – not just today, but into the future. You’ll build an environment grounded in trust, autonomy and collaboration, where underwriters are confident, capable and supported to do their best work.
Working closely with Alliances sales teams and Credit Risk, you’ll act as a trusted connector – bringing clarity, perspective and leadership to complex files, evolving programs and continuous improvement efforts.
If you’re energized by coaching others, thinking strategically, removing barriers and influencing how work gets done – while staying grounded in strong credit principles – this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful national impact.
What you’ll do
Lead and develop people
Lead, coach and support a national team of underwriters serving Alliances lending customers and programs across Canada
Foster a high‑trust, collaborative environment where team members take ownership and continue to build confidence and capability
Support the growth of both experienced underwriters and emerging or informal leaders
Strengthen credit quality
Provide guidance, coaching and quality oversight on underwriting narratives for complex commercial files
Promote consistent, well‑structured and risk‑aware underwriting practices
Champion FCC’s credit culture, lending policies and underwriting best practices
Partner and influence
Act as a key liaison between Alliances, Credit Risk and other internal partners to ensure alignment and effective collaboration
Support Alliances programs including crop input financing, equipment dealerships (including inventory and wholesale financing), and livestock programs
Strategize and improve how work gets done
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency and effectiveness across underwriting processes
Influence how underwriting is approached within Alliances lending through tools, workflows and program design
Remove inefficiencies so the team can focus on high‑value, meaningful work
What you’ll bring to the team
Required qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
A solid understanding of agricultural lending, financial analysis and credit risk principles
Experience leading, coaching or providing meaningful feedback to others either informally or formally

A collaborative mindset and the ability to build trust across teams and functions.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in agricultural production, agribusiness, commercial or corporate lending
Experience underwriting complex or large‑exposure credit files
Exposure to Alliances, partnerships or program‑based lending models
Experience contributing to process improvement, change initiatives or capability development
Familiarity with credit adjudication processes, risk mitigation strategies and lending policy frameworks
