Job Description & Summary
PwC’s Capital Markets & Accounting Advisory (“CMAA”) team within the Broader Assurance Services (“BAS”) business unit advises clients on complex accounting and financial reporting matters relating to moments of change such as the application of (new) IFRS/Dutch GAAP/US GAAP standards, GAAP conversions, IPOs, M&A or transformational projects. The work consists of both advising our non-audit clients as well as being a specialist to our audit teams on complex accounting and financial reporting matters. Currently we are expanding our team and are looking for experienced accounting professionals.
This is what you'll do
As a Manager, you will work as part of a diverse team of accounting and reporting specialists, helping our clients on complex accounting and financial reporting issues that occur during moments of exceptional change driven by deals and/or capital markets transactions.
Examples of what you will do include:
You will lead the project team in the execution of technical accounting and/or capital markets projects for our clients, work at a high quality and mentor others towards achieving the same level;
You foster a safe and supporting learning environment and maximize the potential of your team, review deliverables and reporting to the Senior Managers, Directors, Partners and other professionals;
You will need to demonstrate abilities in how to identify and address client needs. This includes building and maintaining client relationships, conducting client meetings and process conversations independently, acting as the engagement manager in all matters of engagement economics and administration including advanced project management expertise with multiple dependencies and stakeholders, and preparing/reviewing complex written and verbal materials;
Advising clients or audit teams on capital market transactions, including IPOs, SPAC mergers, carve-outs/spin-offs, business combinations, private placements, and debt offerings based on understandings of the capital markets and related listing / registration processes; and
Researching, analyzing, and communicating the impact of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements on complex deals and transactions such as leasing, consolidations, refinancing, hedging, GAAP conversions, revenue recognition and/or business combinations.
You recognize yourself in this
You will be a team leader alongside senior CMAA professionals on complex accounting and financial reporting matters. You have at least six years of working experience in the following areas:
Applying IFRS, Dutch GAAP and/or US GAAP and related financial reporting concepts and rules such as financial instruments, leasing, consolidation, GAAP conversions, fair value assessments, revenue recognition, structuring, and/or business combination regulations to solving client issues. We expect specialist knowledge and experience in at least two of these areas also to be able to coach more junior team members;
Specialist knowledge and interests in financial instruments is a plus;
Being an advisor on capital markets accounting topics including IPOs, SPAC mergers, carve-outs and spin-offs, private placements, and/or debt offerings;
Demonstrating extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success as a team leader managing teams;
You are a team player with an entrepreneurial and proactive mindset and like to operate in a dynamic work environment with motivated colleagues;
You have a strong interest in applying technology and tooling in your day-to-day work;
Dutch RA or foreign equivalent;
You are fluent in English (both written and spoken), proficiency in the Dutch language is a plus (both written and spoken).
