What you'll do
Reporting into the AVP, Margin & Inventory Accounting, the Manager, Margin Accounting, is an essential part of the Accounting team and will take on the challenge of a financial reporting role in a unique and complex environment. Your technical expertise and analytical skills are critical for success, as is your ability to communicate, collaborate and manage a team of seven staff members with multiple projects and deadlines.
Your areas of responsibility include Sales, Cost of Sales, and Warranties for all CTC BUs. You will take accountability for the Dealer/Corporate margin split calculation and related contractual interpretation and analysis. You will interact with various areas of the business (i.e. Merchandising, FP&A, Marketing, Supply Chain, A/R, A/P, Treasury and I.T.) to ensure that results are accurately reported on a timely basis. You will become a “subject-matter-expert” for all areas of responsibility and play a key role in projects related to these areas.
Ensure financial results are in compliance with IFRS and CTC accounting policies and procedures.
Ensure accounting practices impacting margin are in compliance with the Dealer Contract
Communicate significant variances to expected results - this will require an understanding of CTC’s business processes and the ability to understand and link impacts of business strategies and events into financial analysis
Review journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the monthly close process
Manage the execution of model reviews and updates using a critical mindset to question inputs and assumptions.
Manage and maintain a strong working relationship with internal audit, external audit and certification
Ensure compliance with all key controls
Manage and develop seven direct reports
Focus on continuous process improvement and automation
Undertake ad hoc projects as required.
What you bring
University Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
CPA designation required
6+ years progressive experience in Finance or Accounting with at least 2 years as a People Manager
Proven ability to successfully lead and inspire other team members
Excel at investigating and solving complex problems and accounting issues
Experience in delivering timely and accurate financial reporting for senior management
Solid financial and technical skills coupled with strong analytical ability
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships
Ability to thrive in an environment responsive to changing business requirements, including proven ability to implement process improvements/automation and challenge the status quo
Solid PC skills (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)
Experience with Oracle Financial system (HFM, PeopleSoft, Smartview, and ARCS an asset)
CTR experience an asset

Our typical hiring range is between $79,000.00 - 131,000.00 CAD Annual. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, job-related knowledge, skills and competencies, market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements.
