The Accounting Manager works under the direction of the Director, Finance. This role is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, cash management activities, and financial reporting, and for supporting the budgeting and forecasting activities. The Accounting Manager helps maintain and improve financial policies and procedures to support the integrity and accuracy of financial information and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

How You'll Create Possibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform and coordinate day-to-day activities in cash management, accounts payable indirect/direct, inventory, treasury, tax accounting, warranty and out of warranty accounting, customer allowances and daily cash reconciliation.
  • Ensure compliance with GE Appliances policies, financial regulations and standards, and best practices.
  • Maintain and enhance financial policies and procedures, identifying and implementing internal control improvements to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Perform month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes for assigned areas and ensure compliance with US GAAP.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate requests and ensure timely completion of audit activities.
  • Assist in preparation of annual US GAAP financials and footnotes.
  • Supervise, coach and support the Cash Collections Representative and the Finance Representative, including workload management, training, and performance feedback.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive efficiencies throughout the operation.
  • Collaborate with the FP&A Manager for annual budget development.
  • Serve as the liaison to the Controllership team at headquarters and support their financial reporting and compliance efforts.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • 5 years experience in public accounting or experience in a corporate finance or accounting role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to grasp operational processes and assess financial impact of operational decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and promote teamwork, accountability and controllership
  • Self-motivated and able to operate independently
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Confidence to drive change and make informed decisions
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Fully bilingual – English & Spanish
  • Customer oriented mindset and strong service orientation toward internal stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA license (highly preferred)
  • MBA
  • Experience with Oracle and Hyperion (or similar ERP and reporting tools)
