As an Integrated Operations Training – Manager Level 2 located in Colorado Springs, CO, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one.

The Integrated Operations Directorate Manager is responsible for preparing for, and executing space/ground operations for a wide variety of mission types and customers, including commercial systems, NASA science & exploration missions, Human Spaceflight missions, Space Logistics mission, and national security space missions.  Part of the Integrated Operations charter is to develop and deliver high quality training to internal and external customers to ensure they are ready to effectively operate our delivered systems

This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Staff Planning:  The Manager proactively works with program operating unit management to understand training requirements, schedules, and budgets. S/he uses those inputs to define long and short-term staffing needs. 
  • Staffing:  The Manager acts on projected staffing needs by opening requisitions, interviewing candidates, and making hiring decisions.
  • Staff Management:  The Manager defines yearly goals for members of the Training Department, then provides ongoing formal and informal performance feedback, including formal performance evaluations and compensation planning.
  • Training Standards:  The Manager will create standards for training products developed and delivered by Integrated Operations to ensure materials are high quality and meet all customer objectives. 
  • Training Development & Delivery: The Manager will have program responsibilities to build & deliver training products to meeting program objectives.
  • Budget Management:  Integrated Operations has a pre-determined overhead budget.  The Manager will work to ensure employee’s time is appropriately charged, and will work with the Director and other Department managers to ensure overall spending remains within budget.
  • Other duties as assigned

This position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6 years of professional experience.  
  • Requires an active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance at time of application
  • Experience managing teams of training specialists is required
  • Experience with curriculum development is required
  • Experience with formal Type 1 Training is required
  • Experience using tools like Camtasia to build training videos is required
  • Experience using simulators during training is required

 Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Special Access to one or more current NG TSSD programs is preferred
  • Experience using Raptor or MAESTRO command/control products is preferred

Northrop Grumman Total Rewards 

Primary Level Salary Range: $146,500.00 - $219,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
