Management Accountant (ERP Implementation)

Join Spafax as a Management Accountant - 6 month FTC,  and be a pivotal part of a global ERP transformation! We're upgrading our financial systems from Sun/Sage 100/Sage Intacct to Workday Financials, and we need your expertise to make this transition a success.

You'll own our day-to-day financial control and reporting, ensuring everything runs smoothly, all while actively contributing to our exciting finance transformation journey.

We're looking for someone who can:

  • Ensure financial operations remain continuous and stable throughout the implementation.
  • Bring a strong sense of order, structure, and best practices to our financial processes.
  • Confidently dive into ERP testing, providing valuable input and support.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to streamline and improve existing workflows.
  • Collaborate effectively and build strong relationships with the finance team and wider stakeholders.

What you'll be doing:

Key Responsibilities

This role offers a dynamic blend of core financial management and direct involvement in our global ERP implementation. You will be instrumental in maintaining financial integrity while shaping our future financial systems.

1. Core Financial Management & Controllership:

  • Prepare and present accurate monthly management accounts.
  • Execute comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Conduct in-depth variance analysis and provide insightful commentary on financial performance.
  • Provide essential support for budgeting and forecasting cycles.
  • Assist with financial consolidation across our global entities (UK, Singapore, Dubai, US, Canada).
  • Uphold and enhance strong financial controls across all entities to ensure compliance and accuracy.

2. ERP Implementation & Finance Transformation:

  • Actively assist with data validation and cleansing efforts for the new Workday ERP.
  • Participate critically in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and parallel run activities to ensure system functionality.
  • Facilitate the seamless transition of reporting from legacy systems to Workday Financials.
  • Proactively identify, suggest, and contribute to process improvement opportunities within the finance function.

What you'll need:

We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic environment. You're hands-on, highly organised, and comfortable challenging existing processes to drive continuous improvement.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a Management Accounting or Financial Controllership role.
  • Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA).
  • Demonstrable experience within an international, multi-entity reporting environment.
  • Robust expertise in month-end closing procedures and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Direct experience with budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).

Highly Desirable Attributes:

  • Prior involvement or exposure to ERP implementation projects.
  • Familiarity with Workday Financials or other major ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Dynamics, SAP).
  • Understanding of UK, US, and International GAAP.
  • Experience with financial consolidation.
  • Comfort working effectively in dynamic and evolving environments.
  • A natural aptitude for problem-solving and process improvement.
