Maintenance Zone Technician - Ladies Residence Halls


 

The Zone Tech I is responsible for performing basic maintenance in the buildings assigned to them, reporting new work orders, completing assigned work orders, supervising student and GA workers, and responding to emergency calls.

Provides technical support and operational assistance within the ladies’ residence halls.


 

Maintain Assigned Buildings

Perform general maintenance (not requiring a skilled trade) in assigned buildings. Recognize and report changes in buildings, perform minor cleanups, and remove, report & document safety hazards.

Report and Complete Work Orders

Inform the Maintenance Helpdesk of work needing to be performed as well as safety hazards that must be resolved. Complete Work Orders in adherence to ministry standards. Accurately record in the maintenance database the current status of any work taking place, keep detailed log entries in the database as work progresses, and record time spent on each job.

Supervise Work Assistants

Train and supervise assigned GA and student workers on minor repairs (those not requiring a skilled trade). Ensure compliance with established maintenance safety procedures.

Respond to Emergency Calls

Respond to emergencies in assigned buildings. Be available to assist with emergencies in other areas as needed. If necessary, contact appropriate trades immediately. Notify the Maintenance Help Desk of any work orders needed to return the area to normal usage.

Work Experience Required

6 months+ in maintenance or trades


 

Physical Requirements and Skills

Ability to lift 50+ pounds, Computer Literacy, Handheld Power Tools, Hand Tools, Ladders, Lift, bend, stretch, push, or pull as needed, State driver's license
