How you’ll make a difference: 

In this role, you will help create a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for all staff and visitors across all WCB locations. By supporting the operation and upkeep of our building systems and coordinating facility services, you will play an important part in ensuring our workplaces run smoothly every day.

Your responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the operation, repair, and maintenance of base building systems and equipment that do not require a certified tradesperson.

  • Maintaining HVAC filters and related equipment to ensure optimal system performance.

  • Supporting and monitoring the building’s water treatment program under the direction of a certified tradesperson.

  • Coordinating office moves, workplace reconfigurations, and facility maintenance projects.

  • Ensuring contractors and employees follow all health and safety procedures and practices.

  • Responding to emergency facility situations as required.

  • Completing Facility Service Requests (FSR’s) and documenting work performed.

  • Assisting with preventative maintenance tasks to keep building systems operating reliably.

Your experience and skills:

  • High school diploma and several years of experience in the operation, repair, and maintenance of high-rise office buildings in a corporate environment.

  • A 5th Class Power Engineering certificate is considered an asset.

  • Certifications such as WHMIS, CPR/First Aid, Respirator Certification, Driver Training, and Mess Kit training are considered assets.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • A strong commitment to customer service.

  • Clear communication and strong problem-solving abilities, including the ability to explain issues and present solutions to clients.

Salary:  $53,199 to $59,125 per annum (Salary Grade 6)

This position requires you to work in-person in all our Edmonton offices. Final candidates are required to undergo a security clearance as a condition of employment.
