Maintenance Tradesperson (Mechanical)

About the Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join our team at our Hazelmere depot. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the full maintenance of our Sortation Systems and related depot equipment. This includes performing preventative and predictive maintenance, as well as swiftly addressing any unforeseen breakdowns or damages. The position requires expertise as a Mechanical Fitter, along with broader responsibilities for general depot maintenance.

Position Location: Hazelmere, with work at Perth Airport site (32 Snook Road) as well.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 6:00am – 2:06pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned maintenance for automated sortation systems and related freight handling equipment, ensuring maximum throughput.

  • Early identification and rapid correction of mechanical or automation faults.

  • Maintain the Computerised Maintenance Management System (MEX).

  • Repair critical system components and ensure adherence to maintenance schedules.

  • Support operational teams in correct system and equipment usage.

  • Assist in designing innovative solutions for evolving operational and business needs.

About You – Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in maintaining complex industrial automation systems.

  • Knowledge of carton and package handling conveyor systems.

  • Proficiency in reading technical diagrams.

  • Experience with conveying equipment, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

  • Ability to utilise MEX software effectively.

  • Participation in continuous improvement initiatives and capital project experience.

  • Freight/intralogistics industry experience highly desirable.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent

  • Electrical Connect/Disconnect (desirable)

  • Valid Driver’s Licence

  • Understanding of operational KPIs and task planning

  • Focus on continuous improvement
