Work Schedule

Monday through Friday 2nd shift (2:00pm – 10:30pm) with OT as needed

Job Overview

The Maintenance position is responsible for maintaining and ensuring the proper operation of all the equipment within a production area. 

• Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems.
• Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices.
• Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.  
• Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
• Plan and lay out repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams.
• Repair and maintain the operating conditions of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment.
• Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
• Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment.
• Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical and electrical components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electrical testing devices.
• Set up and operate machines and adjust controls to regulate operations. Complete daily logs. SAP utilization.
• Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms/ vendors
• Clean machines and machine parts, using cleaning solvents, cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums, or other equipment.
• Attend daily DDS, review KHMS standards, work in a team environment, and communicate effectively

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of Manufacturing
• Minimum High School Diploma and Maintenance Certificate
• Safety Awareness – Being aware of conditions that affect employee safety.
• Quality Orientation – Accomplishing tasks by considering all areas involved, no matter how small; showing concern for all aspects of the job; accurately checking processes and tasks; being watchful over a period of time.
• Adaptability – Maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work tasks or the work environment; adjusting effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements, or cultures. Extended shift flexibility when volume demand increases.
• Teamwork/Collaboration – Working effectively with team/work group or those outside the formal line of authority (e.g., peers, senior managers) to accomplish organizational goals; taking actions that respect the needs and contributions of others; contributing to and accepting the consensus; subordinating own objectives to the objectives of the organization or team.
• Leadership - willingness to lead, take charge, and offer opinions and direction.
• First Responder – Being a first responder and knowing first aid

Physical/Mental Requirements:

• Lift 50 pounds.
• Constant bending and twisting; Able to reach above shoulders.
• Able to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, and crouch occasionally.
• Must have good verbal communication and basic mathematical skills.
• Self-motivated and strong drive for results.
• Able to become certified to operate a lift truck.
• Must possess appropriate tools and toolbox.
• Able to work in hot/humid conditions as well as areas that may contain dust/starch particles and egg.
• Able to pass their FIT test.
• The environment in which the job is performed, especially any unique conditions outside a normal office environment.
•  Environment: indoors/outdoors, production floor: exposure to high noise levels and occasional wet flooring, temperature fluctuations, PIV traffic, moving equipment parts
• PPE (Personal Protective Equipment):  safety glasses, slip resistant steel toe shoes, ear plugs, bump cap, hair net and beard net (when on plant floor)
