JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Maintenance Technician II performs preventive and corrective maintenance on all facility and building systems. Completes specialized repairs in areas of technical expertise. Performs other general tasks for the maintenance and upkeep of grounds, facility and site. Provides plant operation and shift oversight as necessary.
This Maintenance Tech II position is assigned to the plumbing team on the second shift, its primary function is to install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems including water, steam, drainage, and medical gas systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues using appropriate tools and techniques. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Collaborate with other trades and departments to support facility operations. Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used. Respond to emergency calls and participate in on-call rotations as needed.
EDUCATION:
High School (GED) education and a State Journeyman's License in one of the following trades: Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry or Chief Engineer or class II (NILUPE). In place of licensure a comparative, cumulative number of years' experience may be considered, in a specific specialty trade. Examples of such are HVAC Technician, Refrigeration Technician, and/or experience in excess of five years in a mechanical, electrical, carpentry or plumbing trade. Must possess a valid Vermont driver’s license and safe driving record
EXPERIENCE:
Two to three years experience in related trades.
