Amentum is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our #pecan team!
Essential Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily maintenance operations, ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural maintenance tasks are performed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership to manage a team of maintenance technicians, prioritize work orders, and contribute to the long-term upkeep and functionality of facilities. The Maintenance Supervisor is also responsible for tracking maintenance schedules, ensuring staff training, and maintaining operational records. Primary responsibilities include:
- Supervision and Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, providing direction and assistance on projects and tasks.
- Assign and prioritize work orders based on urgency and resource availability.
- Conduct regular staff meetings, performance reviews, and training sessions to keep the team skilled and efficient.
- Operations and Coordination:
- Oversee the completion of maintenance tasks related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and other facility systems.
- Perform routine inspections and audits to ensure systems and equipment are functioning properly and meet operational standards.
- Coordinate with other departments, contractors, or vendors to schedule repairs, procure supplies, and manage ongoing projects.
- Preventative and Predictive Maintenance:
- Manage preventative maintenance schedules to ensure systems remain operational and efficient, avoiding costly breakdowns.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend repairs, upgrades, or replacements as necessary based on predictive maintenance data.
- Code Compliance and Safety Oversight:
- Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to applicable national, state, and local codes as well as organizational safety policies and procedures.
- Promote and enforce strict adherence to OSHA regulations and best practices for workplace safety and hazard mitigation.
- Implement lockout/tagout protocols and other safety measures when dealing with mechanical systems, high-voltage equipment, and hazardous materials.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance logs, completed work orders, inspections, equipment warranties, and repairs.
- Generate reports for senior management to document equipment status, resource needs, staffing schedules, and expenditures.
- Track maintenance budgets, inventory levels, and requisitions to ensure efficient resource management.
- Technical Proficiency and Problem Solving:
- Use advanced technical skills to troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, or plumbing issues.
- Provide guidance and support to technicians on diagnosing and resolving technical challenges.
- Assist in hands-on maintenance tasks in situations requiring advanced knowledge or additional staffing support.
- Emergency Response:
- Act as the primary point of contact during maintenance emergencies, ensuring prompt action to restore systems and mitigate risks.
- Create and oversee response procedures for power outages, plumbing emergencies, equipment failures, and other critical incidents.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to:
- A combination of indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, noise, and hazardous conditions such as moving mechanical parts or electrical systems.
- Conditions requiring the use of appropriate safety equipment (e.g., PPE) when working with tools, equipment, or hazardous materials.
The position requires:
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, climbing, and kneeling to supervise and assist technicians.
- Lifting and moving tools, equipment, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity and the ability to use hand and power tools as required for inspections and repairs.
- Strong attention to detail and decision-making skills for identifying and resolving operational issues.
Noise levels in the work environment may range from moderate to loud depending on the systems or equipment in operation.
Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- General mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry knowledge required for facility systems maintenance.
- Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience in a technical field.
- Familiarity with basic mathematical functions for performing calculations related to resource allocation, project planning, and performance metrics.
- Strong knowledge of hand and power tools and troubleshooting techniques.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards for building operations and maintenance, including OSHA regulations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Ability to use computer software and work order systems to document activities and manage schedules.
Clearance Required (If Applicable):
Minimum Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Years of Experience:
- Two (2) or more years of experience in the maintenance field, with at least one (1) year in a leadership or supervisory role.
Required Certifications (If Any):
- Journeyman certification or state-recognized licensure in a relevant trade such as electrical, plumbing, or HVAC is strongly preferred.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate Degree or Technical Certification in Facility Management, Mechanical Systems, or a related field.
- Experience managing maintenance teams in commercial, industrial, or government facilities.
- Hands-on expertise in Building Automation Systems (BAS), energy-efficient operations, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Additional certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facilities Management Professional (FMP), or Project Management Professional (PMP).

Compensation Details:
$120,000 to $170,000
