Act as a champion for safety for the site. Lead safety sessions with the workforce. Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
Respond to safety and environmental hazards to eliminate them and maintain compliance with all regulatory agencies.
Ensure equipment/facility maintenance is planned, scheduled, and performed in a cost effective manner and in compliance with maintenance standards.
Manage maintenance and contractor spending in accordance with the plant budget.
Ensure parts and appropriate tools are available to perform maintenance work.
Gather, analyze and interpret data from reliability centered maintenance tools (oil analysis, vibration monitoring, alignment, thermography, etc.)
Manage Asset Lists, PM compliance and regulatory schedule via Tabware CMMS
Assist production personnel with identifying system/equipment issues and solutions (trouble-shooting).
Supervise implementation of process equipment improvements, work practices and equipment changes which improve productivity and/or enhance equipment availability.
Recommend and implement changes to component specifications (materials, tolerances, speed, etc.)
Maintain and advise on use and disposition of stock items, rental equipment, etc.
Schedule weekly/daily maintenance activities for contractors and maintenance employees
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Associates or Bachelors degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology or Engineering preferred
Five (5+) years of experience supervising/managing industrial maintenance is preferred
Proven maintenance leader with demonstrated experience leading & developing teams
MSHA awareness a plus
Experience with milling, drying and material handling equipment
Experience managing maintenance programs via a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Strong mechanical aptitude and trouble-shooting skills
Knowledge of plant production processes.
Knowledge of mechanical maintenance processes including preventive/predictive maintenance procedure with understanding of process control concepts and broad range of equipment types (mills, dryers, blowers, conveyors, dust collectors, packaging equipment, etc.)
Experience with G-Suite applications preferred.
Understanding of mass balances and flow sheets
Internal customer focused and proven team member.
Ability to work independently and with various levels of personnel.
Experience in Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement preferred
Work environment –Plant environment with exposure to varying temperature/humidity and chemicals and process equipment: Office environment–sitting, desk work - 40%; process environment - standing, walking, observing, trouble-shooting – 60%.
Lifting up to 50 lbs. - Infrequent
Communicating - verbally/written required – Listening
Duration of work week – typically Mon-Fri; plant and process support to 24/7 operation and must be available for on-call coverage during off hours/weekends/holidays
Travel – infrequently
