Leads, supervises and performs work to construct, install, modify, maintain and repair all electrical systems, devices and equipment on all all buildings on main and satellite campuses. Utilizes blueprints, specifications, established practices and pertinent state and local electrical codes in providing quality workmanship. Assists with training, supervision, allocation of duties and evaluation of personnel. Participates in call-Out chain. This position is considered essential personnel and may require additional responsibilities associated with storm duty or other campus emergencies.
Job Responsibilities
30% -Leads, supervises and performs work to install and maintain electrical systems in university buildings per specifications, blue prints, and applicable codes, in addition to implementing and overseeing the prevention maintenance program for electrical systems and associated equipment.
20% -Leads, supervises and performs the work to isolate and correct electrical system faults; tests electrical equipment and systems such as, emergency back-up systems, motor starters, variable frequency drives, circuit breakers, branch circuits, lights, and installs conduit/raceways for all buildings.
20% - Manages and oversees new construction and maintenance of outside contractors working on institutional electrical systems to include providing materials for contractors in labor-only situations and managing the progress of projects, as well as, reviewing the project budget to ensure timely project completion with budget.
20% - Manages staff, processes work orders, submit materials requisitions, assign tasks and inspects work, provides training, education and evaluation of work; approves leave requests, assists in maintaining a customer service-oriented environment; performs other duties as assigned.
10% - Leads, supervises and performs maintenance and repairs of all electrical distribution systems up to and including 480 volts.
Special and Physical Requirements
This position requires a valid driver's license, will require an MVR, and is subject to drug screens per PM-33/PS-67/FASOP HR-04.

This position is considered emergency essential and may be required to report to campus in times of emergency and/or closure per PS-18.
This position will require a physical evaluation based on the physical demands required.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience:
Four years of experience in the building construction trades; maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment; building construction; building maintenance; or construction, maintenance, or repair of roads or bridges; OR
Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering plus two years of experience in the building construction trades; maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment; building construction; building maintenance; or construction, maintenance, or repair of roads or bridges; OR
Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, engineering, or any combination of these courses plus two years of experience in the building construction trades; maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment; building construction; building maintenance; or construction, maintenance, or repair of roads or bridges.
