Job Description Summary
We are seeking a results-driven Maintenance Reliability Engineer to join our Engineering & Maintenance team to support the maintenance and reliability efforts across a 45-acre pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This individual will be responsible for driving equipment reliability improvements, reducing equipment downtime, and optimizing asset performance by applying engineering methodologies, data analysis, and continuous improvement strategies. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Lead efforts to improve equipment reliability. Access machine health to predict failures utilizing predictive and condition-based techniques.
Develop and contribute to the preventive/predictive maintenance programs (Inspection, Vibration, Oil Analysis, NDT, thermography, etc.) to ensure optimum equipment availability.
Utilize root cause analysis, Pareto analysis, statistical review, FMEA and similar techniques to strengthen equipment performance.
Responsible for the facilitation of continuous improvement processes around equipment availability and reliability.
Monitor equipment performance metrics (MTBF, MTTR, OEE) and identify areas for reliability improvement.
Update and optimize the CMMS system preventative and predictive maintenance tasks in conjunction with the maintenance planner.
Provide technical support, training and development for maintenance functions with specific focus on entrenching reliability concepts within the maintenance department.
Maintain maintenance plant documentation electronically and with hard files.
Provide technical support for weekend/off-shift coverage.
Participate in long-term improvement plans for advancing the department to a more reliable state.
Obtain outside engineering services.
Adhere to all Plant Safety rules and policies.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field required.
Experience:
Minimum of 5-8 years of industrial manufacturing/maintenance or reliability experience
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
VCat-III. CBM certifications a plus (MLA, CBM Certification a plus

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE:
This position reports to the Engineering, Maintenance, and Utilities Manager. This individual is responsible for asset reliability in multiple production areas in the St. Louis Plant manufacturing facility. The reliability initiatives and tasks require the coordination of multiple skilled crafts and several operating and service departments.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The Reliability Engineer will work primarily in a manufacturing/maintenance environment. Manufacturing areas are not climate controlled. During summer months, building exhaust fans provide ventilation. Chemicals handled include acids and bases, organic solvents, and inorganic compounds. Chemicals may have characteristic odors or hazardous properties that require special handling. Office and Manufacturing environment may require use of personal protective equipment such as hard hat, safety glasses and work boots. Additional PPE may be required on some occasions.
