Job Summary: You will serve as a MAINTENANCE PLANNING BRANCH MANAGER in the Facility and Plant Maintenance Division of the Facility and Infrastructure Management Department of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST. The incumbent will manage the day-to-day operations for reliability-based maintenance; workload control; project management of contracted services; warehouse management; and equipment and facilities planning, procurement and scheduling.

Major Duties:

  • You will serve as the first-level supervisor in the Facility and Plant Maintenance Division providing management and oversight of daily operations by meeting with subordinate team leaders and functional managers.
  • You will consult with other divisions within the FRC concerning maintenance for production machinery and plant equipment, manufactured items of shop equipment, incoming equipment and facilities modernization projects, maintenance schedules, etc.
  • You will establish methods and manage the development, implementation and modification of applicable depot instructions and maintenance processes, procedures and desktop guides for the assigned functional areas.
  • You will ensure that assigned functional areas are managed against effective metrics and internal objectives to meet customer goals.
  • You will recommend resource adjustments and/or process changes to division or branch managers based on trending of metrics for assigned areas or changes in division operating procedures.
  • You will monitor and oversee approved revisions of long-range plans, goals and objectives of the work directed for assigned functional areas.
  • You will provide one-on-one instruction or training to subordinate employees in proper work methods, work documents, labor transactions and safe practices.
  • You will ensure proper evaluation of incoming workload and make decisions on contracting work or performing with organic resources based on capability and capacity of the organization.

Qualifications: *APPLICANTS MUST PROVIDE AN ACCOMPLISHMENT RECORD IN ADDITION TO THEIR RESUME* Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing and implementing new industrial techniques and processes to resolve complex and obscure problems not readily accomplished by accepted methods while supporting planned corrective, predictive, preventive and reactive maintenance strategies; 2) Adapting and flexing the planning, organizing, scheduling, problem identification and resolution of industrial and administrative processes; 3) Applying various analytical techniques, including quantitative and statistical analysis, and other data reporting metrics; 4) Utilizing Maximo or other computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to manage material, maintenance programs, and projects; and 5) Overseeing industrial maintenance activities demonstrating reliability-based maintenance, workload control/management, project and contracted services management, maintenance material procurement, maintenance planning, warehouse management and/or scheduling of maintenance resources to support a large complex industrial operation.
