About this role

Diamond Infrastructure Solutions is seeking our next Maintenance Planner to help support St. Charles Operations in Hahnville, LA. This will be a Diamond Infrastructure Solutions Role in the SIM department as SCO. As the Maintenance Planner, you create job packages from the work order scope which contains the information regarding labor, material, and services required to ensure safe, effective, and efficient execution of the work. This role requires full proficiency in a range of technical, operational, or analytical/scientific processes and procedures through job-related training and considerable on the job experience to perform a variety of work assignments. You will act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the appropriate job packet documentation for use in the planning process.
  • Make field visits when needed to complete job plans.
  • Identifies/solicits safety information and requirements necessary to safely perform tasks.
  • Supports Maintenance Procedure Use Policy by ensuring all job packages include a procedure or the task is on the Procedure Exemption list before the job package is released. Checks that all Maintenance Procedures include a hazard assessment.
  • Review work orders for job scope completeness and return to Gatekeeper if incomplete.
  • Prepare job packet in SAP to include Labor, tools, equip., materials, & services needed to complete job.
  • Use Quality Feedback from "Do work" person to optimize/archive job plans.
  • When possible, use "Archived" job plans for basis of actual plans.
  • Move jobs to "Active" backlog when material availability is confirmed.
  • Identify task activities necessary to execute job plan.
  • Identify/solicit safety information and requirements to perform job tasks.
  • Record tasks and information within the work order.
  • Enable the people who manage and/or perform work in the field with the tools and information needed to perform their job effectively and efficiently.
  • Requires full proficiency in a range of technical, operational, or analytical/scientific processes and procedures through job-related training and considerable on the job experience to perform a variety of work assignments.
  • Act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.
  • Uses feedback from the person doing the work to optimize the work plans.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years of related industry experience.
  • Current, valid US driver’s license.
  • This is a day job utilizing an alternative work schedule. (4 ten-hour days -- Monday to Thursday).
  • Overtime and call-outs will be required after-hours (nights, weekends and holidays), depending on work to be done.

  • A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the U.S. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including any type of permanent residency support.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An associate's degree in a maintenance or related field.
  • 5+ years of related industry experience.
  • Knowledge of the Dow Global Maintenance Work Process.
  • Previous experience in a Planner role.
  • Previous experience working in a chemical plant production facility.
  • Mechanical aptitude.

Your Skills

  • Proficiency in SAP CMMS: Ability to create job packages, input plans, and manage work orders using SAP or similar computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Field-Based Job Scoping & Procedure Integration: Skilled in conducting field checks, identifying task activities, and ensuring alignment with maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
  • Safety & Risk Awareness: Capable of identifying and incorporating safety requirements into job plans, including hazard assessments and PPE compliance.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Able to optimize work plans using feedback, troubleshoot incomplete work orders, and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to guide less experienced team members and collaborate with technicians, gatekeepers, and schedulers.
  • Procedure Development & Documentation: Experience in creating, updating, and managing job procedures and checklists, including initiating Management of Change (MOC) processes.
  • Technical & Learning Agility: Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel with the ability to quickly learn new systems and skills.
  • Collaboration & Professionalism: Demonstrates leadership, initiative, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively within an empowered team environment.

Physical Requirements 

Must be willing and able to do the following with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Wear all required personal protective equipment, including but not limited to a respirator.
  • Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
  • Frequent/occasional lifting of material weighing approximately 50 lbs.
  • Work in tight or closed-in spaces.

  • Walk for extended periods of time.
  • Work in an area of intense or continuous noise.
  • Work in an area with hazardous materials.
  • This role does involve elevated work greater than or equal to four feet above the ground.  Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including harnesses with a total weight capacity of 285 lbs.
