About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Planner, to join our supportive team at our Smithfield Vinidex manufacturing operation.
Ideally you will come from a similar role and enjoy working in a fast paced and innovative manufacturing environment, where your experience managing contractors, trades, organising annual shutdowns, and overseeing the spare parts inventory, including sourcing and purchasing specialty parts, will be pivotal to your success.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your day will also include scheduling maintenance activities including preventative maintenance, creating and closing out work orders, reviewing timeframes, root causes, patterns and frequency of maintenance events, to optimise performance and reliability of plant and equipment.
What will you do?
Plan and co-ordinate all preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance activities including preparation of JSEA and issuing High risk Work Permits to ensure safety is at the forefront of everything we do.
Plan and coordinate contractors, supervise and plan the work of the maintenance team to ensure minimal interruptions to manufacturing operations.
Utilise MEX to plan preventative maintenance works, document all completed maintenance activities including breakdowns and maintain critical spare register and stock level.
Optimise the preventative maintenance program to improve equipment reliability and production OEE performance
Manage inventory of critical spare parts and maintenance consumables, ensuring correct allocation of purchase orders and invoicing to the appropriate accounts
Plan and coordinate annual maintenance shut down work and day to day maintenance activities including scope of works
Attend all production meetings and stand in for the Maintenance manager when on leave
Facilitate root cause analysis for major breakdown to improve equipment availability and efficiency
About you
You will have an Engineering degree (preferably mechanical or electrical) or trade qualification with 3-5 years’ experience working in a similar role within a Manufacturing, FMCG or Heavy Industrial environment.
Be hands on and flexible to coordinate and organise contractors and assist the maintenance team when needed.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Demonstrated experience in planning & supervising maintenance activities including annual shutdowns and preventative maintenance
Proficient in using systems including CMMS (MEX or equivalent), ERP (SAP advantageous)
Experience raising purchase orders, invoice management and running spare parts inventory
Exceptional time management and coordination skills, able to prioritise and be agile with a high level of attention to detail.
Team player with a positive outlook, have strong relationship building skills, results driven and enjoys trouble shooting to find the best solution.
Understands equipment maintenance management (extrusion process advantageous).
