Maintenance Mechanic, full time, nights

Under limited supervision, maintains the hospital and/or hospital occupied properties physical structure, grounds, and systems, including snow removal. Performs maintenance in areas of mechanical, electrical, carpentry, painting, refrigeration, and plumbing. Calibration of critical medical gas systems. Assist with all combative patient and guest situations with security services and responds to emergency situations as necessary.

Job Type: Full Time (80 hours every two weeks)

Shift Length: 11:00pm-7:30am

Weekend Frequency: Every 3rd weekend

Wage Range: $23.30 - $34.95

Education Requirements:

-High school diploma/GED, or higher education

- Valid State of Michigan drivers license

Physical Plant Work Orders/Projects

• Repairs, as indicated by work orders, items including painting, carpentry, mechanical, plumbing, refrigeration, and electrical.

Projects and Problem Solving

• Accepts and thoroughly follows through with all new projects and renovations, and demonstrates skill at problem solving and working with all individuals involved in project completion.

Systems

• Operates and maintains boilers, HVAC systems, energy management energy conservation systems, vacuum pumps, refrigeration equipment, medical equipment as needed.

Exterior and Grounds

• Performs seasonal exterior duties included but not limited to: snow removal, lawn maintenance, sprinkling systems and exterior building envelope maintenance.
• Cooperates with Security service to ensure safety of building and grounds.

Emergency Response

• Responds to emergency situations within the hospital or grounds that include but not limited fire alarms, disasters and disaster training.
• Responds to on-call as needed during year.

Off Site Property

• Performs work orders and completes projects as needed on off site properties.
