Job Description

  

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you play a critical role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing advanced vacuum systems as well as associated facility and production equipment. This position requires strong hands‑on technical expertise with rough and high‑vacuum systems, mechanical and electrical components, and preventive maintenance processes. The Maintenance Mechanic works both independently and collaboratively to ensure system reliability, equipment uptime, and compliance with safety and operational standards.

What You’ll Do

  • Repair, rebuild, and retrofit machinery to support efficient and safe production operations
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues involving vacuum systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical systems, and basic electronic components
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair rough and high‑vacuum systems; diagnose performance issues; perform helium leak detection; and install and service vacuum components
  • Interpret schematics and technical documentation and interface with electrical, PLC, and pneumatic control systems
  • Support equipment startups, shutdowns, and system modifications
  • Coordinate with engineering teams and external vendors while ensuring compliance with safety and cleanroom protocols
  • Assist with the installation, integration, and commissioning of new equipment and systems
  • Document maintenance activities in the CMMS and adhere to the preventive maintenance program
  • Perform light facility repairs, including basic plumbing and minor structural work
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and forklifts
  • Follow all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and safety procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Work near moving mechanical equipment while following required protective measures

What You Need

  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills – required
  • Knowledge of vacuum systems, cryogenics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical systems, and basic programmable controllers and drive systems – required
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, precision instruments, and diagnostic equipment – required
  • Ability to obtain forklift and other required equipment certifications – required
  • High school diploma or GED – required; technical degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum of 5+ years of maintenance experience – required; experience with industrial, laboratory, or semiconductor vacuum systems preferred
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs, troubleshooting methods, and vacuum leak‑checking techniques – required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and crawling – required
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and safely around moving machinery – required
  • Ability to work onsite at the Rancho Cordova location – required; position may require on‑call or off‑hours maintenance support

Salary Range:

$62,800.00-$83,700.000
