Maintenance Mechanic 2 - Multiple Shifts (Coral Gables Campus)

The Maintenance Mechanic 2 inspects, repairs, installs, modifies, and maintains general building systems, and equipment to ensure that facility operations run smoothly and uninterrupted.

Available shifts: 

• 2nd Shift (3:30 PM – Midnight) with weekend rotation

• Weekend Shift (Saturday – Wednesday 1pm – 9:30pm)

• 1st Shift (7 AM – 3:30PM) with weekend rotation

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Ensures that all systems are fully operational and are inspected in accordance with accepted standards.
2. Directs and supports technical support staff.
3. Maintains current knowledge of all federal, state, and local safety and environmental laws and regulations, and ensures compliance.
4. Develops and implements preventive maintenance and repair programs and procedures.
5. Acts as a source of direction for the training and guidance of the less experienced staff.
6. Responds to service requests, including but not limited to, hot calls, cold calls, and odor complaints.
7. Inspects water and life safety systems and responds to all fire systems and emergency calls.
8. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license

Experience:
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience required

Certification and Licensing:
Valid license from Miami Dade County | Valid Sate of Florida Driver’s License required
