St. James's Gate Brewery in Dublin is Diageo's largest manufacturing facility in Ireland, and the largest stout brewery in the world, producing over three million pints of Guinness every day, supplying a growing Irish, UK and US market, and exporting to 90 global markets. Our main beer brands are Guinness, Rockshore, Hop House 13, Smithwick's and Harp. We also brew Carlsberg and Tuborg under licence for the Irish market, as well as a range of newer products, most recently Guinness 0.0. The brewery is highly utilised placing a premium on plant and process reliability.
About This Role
Brewery Maintenance Manager will act as the primary contact for engineering support across all areas, providing maintenance expertise and continuous improvement skills to help operations deliver and enhance site KPIs. The role requires ensuring adherence to safe systems of work, supporting the delivery of maintenance tasks, managing overhaul schedules, and monitoring the engineering budget. In this role, you will also support the management of on-site contractors and ensure full compliance with all relevant standards, including Management of Change (MOC) processes, legal compliance requirements, and the Diageo Way of Brewing.
Your key responsibilities will include:
At all times adhering to Diageo health and safety, environmental and food safety standards, and working to all applicable legislative procedures
Maintaining a safe and organised workplace environment through adherence to the Safety and 5S MMS practices.
Supporting Eng. Scheduler and CI team to deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules.
Coaching team members to perform autonomous maintenance tasks, machine set ups optimisation and support growth in equipment capability as required.
Supporting Capex works including installation, commissioning and testing within area as required. Responsible for feeding into Early Equipment Management in areas.
Participating in improvement projects, as skills & experience allow.
Engaging in start of shift meetings- Tier 1-2 level and performance-based team meetings to raise and address persistent performance issues.
To be successful in this role, you will need :
Degree level education or equivalent is desirable. Ideally in a science or engineering level or equivalent within an FMCG industry.
Understanding of Asset Performance and maintenance philosophy with excellent Process Improvement and root cause problem solving skills.
Ability to work in a team and be an effective team member, good communication skills
Be an ambassador for Manufacturing Excellence and continuous improvement.
