Position Summary: 

This position is a discretionary position.  The Machine Maintenance Lead is responsible for performing all aspects of machine maintenance related work.  

  

Responsibilities: 

  • Follow all documented procedures. 

  • Maintain knowledge of all pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC systems. 

  • Maintain knowledge of all RTE side equipment processes. 

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment for RTE side operations throughout the plant. 

  • Perform and complete preventative maintenance work. 

  • Perform and complete minor prefabrication work. 

  • Run machine shop equipment. 

  • Provide guidance and training to all machine maintenance mechanics, including cross-training. 

  • Assist the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Supervisors with establishing crewing schedules. 

  • Assist the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Supervisors with maintaining reliability program documentation 

  • Complete various audits to include, but are not limited to, safety, food safety, and 6S. 

  • Research existing maintenance related literature and gain input from outside contacts/vendors to solve technical related problems. 

  • Keep all work areas clean and properly maintained. 

  • Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF requirements.  

  • Perform all positions of job rotation as needed. 

  • Perform any other work assigned by management.  

  

Requirements: 

  • Ability and willingness to perform basic math functions (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). 

  • Ability and willingness to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. 

  • Ability and willingness to work on demand in emergency situations. 

  • Ability and willingness to complete all paperwork CMMS/SAP functions. 

 

Physical Requirements: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. 

  • Ability and willingness to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level up to 40 pounds frequently. 

  • Ability and willingness to lift with arms up to floor to waist and waist to shoulder up to 40 pounds. 

  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions. 

  • Ability and willingness to use both hands for rapid mental muscular coordination, simultaneously. 

  • Ability and willingness to reach high and low levels, frequently.  

  • Ability and willingness to constantly stand/stoop/walk/bend up to 10 hours. 

  • Ability and willingness to climb stairs. 

  • Ability and willingness to work in wet conditions and cold temperatures at 10 degrees. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 6 months of mechanic work experience documented in the work history section of the application or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program (can be a combination of employers as long as experience is at least 6 months).
