Job Summary**
The Maintenance Jr. Engineer I at Jabil, Inc. supports the maintenance team in ensuring the optimal functioning of manufacturing equipment and facilities. This role involves assisting with troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency under direct supervision.
Job Responsibilities**
* Assist senior technicians and engineers in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems of production machinery.
* Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks, including inspections, lubrication, and cleaning of equipment according to established schedules and procedures.
* Support the installation, calibration, and commissioning of new equipment.
* Document maintenance activities, including repairs, parts used, and time spent, in the maintenance management system.
* Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and maintenance processes.
* Assist in maintaining inventory of spare parts and tools.
* Escalate complex technical issues to higher-level engineers or supervisors.
* Learn and apply new technical skills and knowledge as required.
Job Qualifications**
* Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
* Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic principles.
* Familiarity with common hand and power tools.
* Ability to read and interpret basic technical manuals and schematics.
* Strong problem-solving aptitude and eagerness to learn.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
* Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to noise, varying temperatures, and moving machinery.
* Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds, stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
