Job Details:

Starting Pay Range: $21.65/hr - $30.75/hr

Shift Hours:

  • Sunday: 6 AM - 6 PM
  • Monday: 6 AM - 6 PM
  • Tuesday: 6 AM - 6 PM
  • Wednesday: 6 AM - 12 PM

This position is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in coordination of the daily responsibilities of the department by ensuring the Supervisor’s instructions are communicated to the team members and carried out timely and correctly. This position is also responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Must be able to use basic hand tools. 

able to read & understand assignments, able to communicate orally & in writing, able to hear/respond to two-way radio, able to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders up to 60 feet, able to stand for long periods of time, withstand extreme hot, cold, inclement weather & odors, basic knowledge of math, able to use various electrical & pneumatic power tools & equipment. May monitor boiler and perform chemical test on boiler. May be required to read drawings & schematics of hydraulic & basic electrical systems.  Must be certified to operate various pieces of gas/hydraulic motors/lifts.  Performs duties such as welding, cutting, minor electrical repair, removing, replacement of motor shafts, couplings, pumps, augers, water & steam pipes, lines, & systems. Prefer individual be respirator qualified. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.  Willing to further education by outside training, company testing program & vendor training. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Requirements:

Must have at least 6 months mechanical/maintenance work experience in the last 24 months, preferably industrial maintenance, or further educational degree or certificate in a related field listed on application. 

Prefer leadership or supervisory experience. 

6 months continuous employment with one employer within the last 12 months.  

Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.

Rehire Rule of no more than  3 times worked at Tyson Foods.
