Position Purpose

The Maintenance Fitter role is responsible for supporting the reliable operation of plant and equipment through the completion of mechanical maintenance activities. The position involves carrying out both planned maintenance tasks as allocated by the Maintenance Planner and responding to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner to minimise production downtime.

The Maintenance Fitter will maintain regular communication with Production teams to ensure maintenance issues are identified, prioritised, and resolved efficiently. The role operates on the afternoon shift, working from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work available.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated tradesperson who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and values teamwork and communication.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Minimise downtime by completing maintenance and breakdown work efficiently.
  • Prioritise tasks in consultation with the Maintenance Planner.
  • Apply technical expertise to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues.
  • Act as a key contact for production-related mechanical support.
  • Complete preventative maintenance tasks to a high standard and provide feedback on PM effectiveness.
  • Prepare and stage materials for maintenance activities.
  • Promote and comply with all safety, quality, and environmental requirements, including permits and SMWS.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Certificate IV in Fitting & Machining
  • Working knowledge of MEX/ McMain preferred
  • Prior experience or Knowledge of Electrical breakdown is an advantage.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures, legal regulations, and guidelines
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Intermediate keyboard skills
  • Intermediate level of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
  • Time Management, organisational, and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to show initiative and be proactive
