On-the-job educational programs for nurses, psychologists, advanced practice providers, psychiatrists, and chaplains are equipping the next generation of care providers.

What Will You Do?
As a General Maintenance Technician Level 1 at Pine Rest, you’ll be part of tight-knit team that believes in the healing power of your expertise and compassion. This roll will perform skilled trades work in specialized area of general construction trade (i.e. carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance and repair of Pine Rest buildings and Furnishings). Scheduled work may include weekends, holidays, and/or a variety of shifts. They are dedicated to excellent customer service, enthusiastic about the care we offer, and foster a sense of belonging and empowerment in a diverse workplace.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Troubleshooting — determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
Performs minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.).
Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.
Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Assists in carrying out maintenance routines both general and planned
Performs preventative maintenance.
Maintains the exterior of the building and the grounds.
Assists in snow removal and seasonal grounds work as needed.
Meets with contractors to disseminate site-specific knowledge.
Monitors contractors working in the vicinity.
Maintains a safe environment for patients, employees and the general public
Provides input on the efficiency of procedures in the assigned area.
Must maintain annual training and demonstrate competency in department specific trainings.
Participate in the on-call rotation system, including emergency coverage of plumbing, HVAC, and other general maintenance.
Assist other maintenance workers as needed.
What Does This Role Require?
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED
Required to have a valid Michigan driver’s license and ability access to access Pine Rest Transportation Vehicles for the performance of job duties.
Must show competency using the latest smartphone, tablet, and computer technology
