The Maintenance Coordinator, Fixed Plants plays a pivotal role in driving the safe and efficient execution of maintenance work across fixed plant assets. This position powers reliable operations by proactively removing execution constraints, coordinating critical operational interfaces, and promoting disciplined maintenance practices that strengthen production, safety, and cost performance.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum five (5) years of maintenance or operations experience in an industrial environment with a recognized mechanical or electrical trade certification; or

  • Minimum seven (7) years of progressive maintenance or operations experience in an industrial environment without a trade certification, demonstrating strong execution, coordination and field leadership capability

  • Demonstrated experience supporting maintenance execution, contractor interfaces and operational coordination

  • Strong understanding of safe work execution, risk management and industrial work controls

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, execution‑focused environment

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills across Operations, contractors and support functions

  • Continuous improvement mindset with curiosity to understand systems, processes and hazards

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate maintenance execution activities to support fixed plant availability and operational reliability

  • Identify and remove execution constraints related to access, permits, materials, services and system readiness

  • Act as a Digital Control of Work Champion, ensuring compliance with authorization, risk control and field execution standards

  • Apply Manage Maintenance best practices during execution, including scope control, quality and work order discipline

  • Integrate execution activities with Operations, supervision and contractors to enable interference‑free work

  • Monitor execution progress, risks and field conditions, escalating issues to maintain control

  • Reinforce safety leadership during execution to ensure all work is completed without harm

  • Support cost discipline by minimizing rework, waste and inefficient resource use
     

Location and other Key details:

  • You will work out of Suncor Base Plant in Fort McMurray, Alberta

  • You will work 7 days on and 7 days off

  • Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record

  • This is a safety sensitive position
