The Dalles Disposal, a Waste Connections company, is looking for an ALL-STAR safety-conscious Maintenance Clerk to join the team in The Dalles, Oregon
The schedule is Monday – Friday
Shift is 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Rate of pay is $24.86/hour with an increase to $25.86/hour after 90-days of employment pending a positive performance review.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Purchase Orders/Accounts Payable
- Issue POs and receive invoices daily
- Maintain PO log and prepare shop AP for approval
- Maintain AP process for Maintenance Department (clear AP inbox and code correctly, receive/invoice daily)
- End of the month AP process
Parts
- Purchase and track all maintenance parts, goods and services
- Operate company vehicle to pick up, deliver parts/supplies as needed
- Communicate with vendors on shipping for high priority parts, receive updates on back orders, coordinate returns and Warranty exchanges
- Keep parts inventory and parts room clean and organized
- Update parts tracker for downed units and larger planned repairs
- Check parts requests and requisition. Go over with Maintenance Manager for ordering needs
- Keep fleet software data accurate - Vendors, parts prices, part numbers, stock levels, etc.
- Quarterly hands on inventory reconciliation
- Maintain/track warranty program
Office Administration/Compliance
- Maintain truck and equipment files
- Update miles/hours in fleet software daily
- Input vendor work orders into fleet software to track outside repair costs
- Mail out oil samples daily (or as received)
- Prepare reports with excel - as needed
- Maintain daily administrative operations for the shop including compliance, policies and procedures, expense reports, etc.
- Make sure basic office supply needs are relayed (pens, notepads, etc.)
- Other duties as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be motivated and a self-starter.
- Ability to multi-task in a stressful and time sensitive environment.
- A positive attitude is non-negotiable.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Familiar with vehicle and equipment parts to assist shop personnel with clerical and data entry work
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and E-Mail, proficient in 10 key, keyboarding and typing skills a must
- Experience with computers and data entry including PO's, invoices and inventory logs
- Experience with a Fleet Software maintenance program is a huge plus
- Excellent verbal communications skills
- The ability to drive a company pick up is required for parts running
- Valid Drivers License required
- Must pass drug screen, pre-employment background check and have a clean motor vehicle report to be eligible for employment
