Our Earn to Learn Program opens doors to rewarding careers at Elanco for individuals without prior work experience or a 4-year degree. Apprentices will gain hands-on experience, formal training at Iowa Central Community College, and personalized mentoring—preparing them for success and full-time opportunities with Elanco upon program completion.

Your Role: Maintenance Apprentice

As a Maintenance Apprentice, you will provide maintenance mechanical support on all manufacturing and mechanical equipment within Operations and Utilities.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to perform activities including walking, bending, lifting, and confined space entry
  • Ability to work in adverse outdoor conditions
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Elanco does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position

Additional Information:

  • Location: Fort Dodge, Iowa Manufacturing Site
  • The apprenticeship will last for 3 years, beginning in August 2026.
  • This position is a part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1846.
