The Maintenance & Reliability Operations Leader (Drug Product) is a key member of the Drug Product Leadership Team. The role is accountable for safe, compliant, and efficient maintenance and reliability execution across Drug Product operations, covering Filling, Visual Inspection, and Labelling & Packaging assets. The position drives short‑and mid‑term performance in line with Sanofi World‑Class Operations and Global Operational Excellence standards.

 

As Reliability Owner for Drug Product assets, this role ensures reliability, maintainability, and asset lifecycle principles are embedded into daily operations and improvement plans. The role works transversally with Production, Quality, Engineering, MSAT, HSE, Finance, Procurement, and Digital teams to secure supply performance, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

Main Responsibilities: 

Maintenance & Asset Performance System (25%)

  • Provide accountable leadership for maintenance execution to ensure asset availability, safety, and compliance.

  • Plan and prioritize maintenance activities in alignment with the integrated APU production schedule.

  • Ensure effective coordination with Engineering, Reliability, and Technical Compliance functions.

  • Drive reduction of unplanned downtime and improvement of equipment maintainability.

  • Actively contribute to cost control, productivity, and operational stability.

  • Deploy and owner of Asset Care pillar (SMS standard)

Reliability Ownership – Drug Product Assets (25%)

  • Act as Reliability Owner for Drug Product Filling, Visual Inspection, and Labelling & Packaging equipment.

  • Deploy ReliabilityCentered Maintenance (RCM) principles proportionate to asset criticality and business risk.

  • Establish asset criticality, preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, and lifecycle plans.

  • Monitor and improve reliability KPIs (OEE, MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance).

  • Lead structured root cause analysis and ensure sustainable corrective actions.

Quality, Compliance & Documentation System (15%)

  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with cGMP, Quality Systems, and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain accurate and timely maintenance documentation and training records.

  • Support inspection readiness, audits, and remediation activities.

  • Review and approve technical documentation, change controls, and maintenance protocols.

Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement System (15%)

  • Lead technical troubleshooting for major equipment failures impacting production.

  • Ensure effective execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.

  • Implement improvements through structured change management and CI methodologies.

  • Provide escalation support and decisionmaking for critical breakdowns when required.

Performance, Cost & Financial Management (10%)

  • Contribute to maintenance budget planning and cost control.

  • Track maintenance cost drivers and support productivity improvement initiatives.

  • Ensure adherence to internal control and financial governance processes.

People Leadership & HSE (10%)

  • Lead and develop maintenance teams, including unionized and salaried employees.

  • Drive performance management, engagement, and capability development.

  • Ensure full compliance with Sanofi HSE standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Actively promote a strong safety culture and lead incident investigations.

 

About You 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Sciences, or related discipline with 5 years' experience.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience is highly preferred

  • Solid understanding of GMP, aseptic Drug Product operations, and regulated environments.

  • Experience with RCM, asset lifecycle management, and CMMS systems (e.g., SAP PM) preferred.

  • Experience with capital projects, new asset introduction, and production ramp‑up in GMP manufacturing environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Deviations, CAPA and CCR development and associated Quality systems

  • Experience with Regulatory/Audit inspections

  • Project Management experience

  • Experience with continuous improvement systems/LEAN management concepts (e.g. SMS, etc)

The salary range for this position is:

102,600.00 - 152,600.00 (Includes target bonus)
