The Role
As a Mainframe Console Operations Specialist at Kyndryl, you’ll be responsible for monitoring and controlling enterprise mainframe and distributed systems from the central operations console. In this role, you support system availability, respond to operational alerts, and help ensure stable, reliable daily operations across critical infrastructure environments.
You will monitor system health, track availability metrics, and escalate incidents following established procedures. Your work directly contributes to service continuity and operational reliability while supporting mission‑critical systems for global clients.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor mainframe and distributed systems from the central operations console to ensure system availability.
Respond promptly to system alerts and escalate incidents according to defined operational procedures.
Track system availability and operational events, ensuring accurate incident reporting.
Perform daily operations using tools such as z/OS Console and enterprise monitoring tools.
Follow runbooks and standard procedures while collaborating with higher‑level support teams as needed.

Who You Are
You’re good at what you do and bring hands‑on experience supporting IT operations or mainframe environments. You have strong attention to detail, respond effectively to operational alerts, and understand the importance of availability and timely escalation. You are comfortable working in a structured operations environment and collaborating with global teams.
Required Skills and Experience
3+ years of experience in IT operations or mainframe support environments.
Understanding of IT infrastructure and system monitoring concepts.
Willingness to learn and operate mainframe console tools and environments.
Good communication skills and strong attention to detail.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience supporting mainframe or distributed operations environments.
Intermediate English proficiency, required for documentation and communication with global teams.
Familiarity with operational runbooks, incident management, and escalation processes.
