U.S. Bank is seeking a Mainframe COBOL / CICS DB2 Application Developer with proven full SDLC experience to contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives.
In this role you will be part of an Agile, DevOps team established to build, enhance and support our Merchant Acquiring System.
You will consult with product owners, development leads and business owners on requirement gathering / refinement.
You will be responsible for development, deployment and production support of a large, complex application.
As an Application Developer you will:
Participate in all aspects of SDLC; design, coding, testing, implementation, and documentation of solutions of moderate complexity, significance, and risk.
Follow best practices of software development including, following coding standards, detailed and thorough testing, detailed documentation, and code-reviews.
Create peer reviewed comprehensive technical designs, unit test plans and test cases.
Collaborate in team agile ceremonies, Daily Stand-ups, refinement sessions, sprint planning. Provide clear and valuable input to discussions. Support colleagues, developers, test engineers and product owners.
Review, investigate and answer internal customer’s queries.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
Join a 24x7 On-Call rota, periodically providing out of hours support for our mainframe-based applications.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
At least five years of experience with developing and implementing applications.

Prior knowledge of the payment industry or merchant acquiring is not required but is a distinct advantage.
Location expectations
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
