Work Schedule: Mon - Fri, 7:00am to 3:30pm

Responsible for processing of mail.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions I

Prepares all outgoing mail for the Health System using appropriate rates as determined by postal regulations. This includes mailing out claims.

Operates and maintains equipment used in the mailroom.

  • Must be able to set up and run all jobs on the inserter.
  • Must be able to run all the different envelopes on the meter machine (multiple jobs).
  • Must be able to run the inserter machine for checks, and claims both single, and multiple page documents within the same day.

Processes both incoming and outgoing faxes.

Maintains adequate inventory of supplies to ensure that no interruption will occur to the daily processing of mail.

  • Keeps list of cost centers from Finance to ensure new/all cost centers are charge accurately.

Maintains accurate records so that postal costs are correctly allocated to the appropriate cost centers.

Communicates to supervisor any errors, questions or concerns.

Assists with scanning of documents.

Job Requirements

Education

  • High School diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D.) preferred.


Experience

  • Computer experience is preferred.
  • 6 months previous mail clerk experience preferred.


License/Certifications

  • N/A


Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Strong verbal communication skills for positive interaction with staff and customers required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Able to read, write, and comprehend various written reports and documents required.
  • Must also possess the ability to organize, prioritize, and implement several projects at one time.
  • Must demonstrate the personal trait of a high-level of commitment, motivation, energy, team orientation, professionalism, trust, personal dignity and respect toward others.
  • Participate in mandatory in service and continuing education programs as mandated by policy and procedure/external agencies as directed by supervisor.
