As a Machinist at Unifiller in Richmond, BC, you will be an integral part of our manufacturing team, contributing to the precision fabrication of machinery components that support our innovative food processing solutions. Your expertise will directly impact the quality and reliability of our products, ensuring we meet the highest standards for our customers.
Schedule: Flexible start to your workday, Monday through Friday, 8-hour days.
Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials to prepare machinery work, ensuring optimal efficiency and quality.
Operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders to machine parts to precise specifications.
Measure, examine, and test completed units using precision instruments like micrometers, mills, and turns to detect defects and verify conformance to specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering documentation to determine the most effective methods and sequences of operations.
Follow detailed drawings, BOMs, and specifications to accurately determine machining requirements.
Ensure all products meet specified tolerances and adhere to Unifiller’s strict quality standards.
Assist with the training of new team members, sharing your expertise to foster a skilled and knowledgeable workforce.
Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety protocols and using required safety equipment.
Keep the work area clean and organized to promote efficiency and safety.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support team objectives and operational needs.
You will be part of our dedicated manufacturing team, working closely with colleagues committed to quality and precision. This role may report to a supervisor or lead within the machining or production department, contributing to a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement.
Experience operating a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders.
Mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining processes.
Familiarity with ERP software.
Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in manufacturing.
Previous experience in a fast-paced production setting, particularly within the food processing or related industries.
Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Red Seal Machinist certification or current enrollment in an apprenticeship program.
Prior manufacturing experience, especially working with stainless steel.
Experience training or mentoring new employees.

The pay range is $30 - $37 per hour. Exact compensation will be based on experience, education and other job-related factors.
