Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Machinist 1/2 based out of Apopka, FL.

What You’ll Get to Do:
- Set up and operation of 2-axis CNC lathe as well as 3-axis and 5-axis CNC mill
- Proficient in material and tool selection
- Beginning to end programming with the use of CAD Cam Software,
- Proficient in material and tool selection
- In-process part inspection as well as final inspection
- Operation of manual lathe and mill
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, prototype environment
- Care and maintenance of the equipment
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work independently
- Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence
- High energy, results-oriented, self-motivated/self-reliant, team player
- Motivated to learn and grow skill set as a prototype programmer/machinist
- Able to work overtime and weekends as required
- Able to work in a standing position for extended time periods
- Able to lift or move a minimum of 35 -50 lbs. for up to 12 hours per day; pushing or pulling 35 -50 + lbs. occasionally throughout the workday
- Perform other related work assignments, special projects, and other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Supervisor or Shift Lead
- Resolve unforeseen, unique issues as they arise in machining a part(s)

Basic Qualifications for a Machinist 1:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent. A minimum of a 2-year technical degree and/or a certificate in machine shop technology or equivalent work experience
- Experience with CNC lathe and mill operation
- Experience running manual machines and performing set-ups
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints
- Basic understanding of GD&T and ASME Standards
- Experience in following written set-up instructions and /or performing unique set-ups
- Exposure to a variety of materials and machining processes
- Must be a U.S. citizen
Basic Qualifications for a Machinist 2:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent. A minimum of a 2-year technical degree and/or a certificate in machine shop technology or equivalent work experience
- Candidate must have 4 years of experience on 3 Axis CNC machines
- Experience running manual machines and performing set-ups
- Experience reading and interpreting production specifications, production diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical specifications (English)
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints
- Higher understanding of GD&T and ASME Standards
- Experience in following written set-up instructions and /or performing unique set-ups
- Experience in complex measurements and advanced shop math calculations relative to tolerances, dimensions, tooling, and feeds and speeds
- Experience with material selection and machining processes
- Must be a U.S. citizen
Preferred Qualifications for a Machinist 1/2:
- Preferred experience in machining energetic materials
- Mastercam experience preferred
- CAD/CAM programming in a prototype environment
- Experience with OSP and/or Fanuc Controller preferred
- Experience fabricating component parts where set-ups are non-routine, and tolerances are difficult to acquire and maintain
- Exposure to CNC 4 and 5 Axis is a plus
- Work knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and disciplines
Compensation and Pay Range
Level 1: $47,480 – $61,030
Level 2: $64,060 – $82,240

MANUMS
Primary Level Salary Range: $47,480.00 - $82,240.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
