This position starts at $23.75/HR (with $1/HR shift premium for 3rd shift positions) 

Work Hours: Monday start time 4:00am, Tuesday - Saturday start time 3:30am

 

Job Description:  

The LK Machine Operator is responsible for operating LK machinery to support the continuous flow of product throughout the production process. This role may require working in various areas of the meat processing facility and must be performed in full compliance with all Tyson policies and safety procedures. 

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Ensuring proper ingredients and supplies are used 

  • Sanitizing equipment in accordance with established procedures 

  • Monitoring machine performance 

  • Adjusting machine settings as needed 

  • Reporting any maintenance concerns to supervision.  

  • Maintaining accurate on‑the‑job documentation and must have proficiency in reading and writing to communicate effectively across all levels of management.  

A key function of this role includes handling hot dog sticks and maintaining production throughput targets. The LK Operator must be able to lift and load sticks of product weighing between 35–50 pounds each and consistently sustain a throughput rate of 210 sticks per hour (approximately 3.5 sticks per minute). The operator must also be able to reach and load the top tier of product racks, approximately 6 feet high, to ensure complete and accurate rack filling. 

Physical Requirements: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.  

  • Must be willing and able to lift 35–50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift 

  • Must be willing and able maintain a production pace of 210 sticks per hour (3.5 per minute) 

  • Must be willing and able to reach overhead and load products up to 6 feet high 

  • The Team Member will stand 8–10 hours on hard floors 

  • The Team Member will stand, walk, bend, squat, stretch, climb, push, pull and reach as required in all areas  

  • The Team Member will perform repetitive motions as required in many areas  

  • The Team Member will be required to work in a cold, damp environment with temperatures ranging from 34°F to 38°F 

  • The Team Member will work on slippery walking surfaces 

 

Requirements: 

  • Must have 3 months experience listed on application (can be multiple employers but must add up to 3 months) 

  • Prefer 3 month of Machine Operator Experience   

  • Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred 

 

Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 365 days and are limited to 3 times of employment.
